The LONG awaited Chevron Flag. Sorry it took longer then I said it would to post this. Being a SAHM whose a full time college student going for her Master's and homeschooling her 9 year old... all while running a Scentsy AND Photography business and being a devoted wife to an Army Ranger... is quite, well, EXHAUSTING. But its all worth it :) I love my boys to pieces and am sweetly blessed.
So... TO THE SIGN!! (In my best "To the bat mobile" mimicking voice)
For some reason the first image wouldn't load. But I nailed wood to the back of the boards to keep them evenly held together. For added support because this sign is HUGE, I added metal support sections. I opted for a LARGE sign. But this can be scaled down for any size of wood piece.

Next I taped off to paint my first color... Blue. And yes, the image below is not a eye trick. I DID hand free, taped my stars. I wanted a primitive look, not an organized look.
Next... PAINT!! :) Once you've painted the first area with your first color, wait for it to dry and then remove the tape.
See?? Removed tape.. pretty stars. And then paint your next color. I chose to go with white first. I taped on the blue where the white would meet. If its truly dry it won't bleed.
Once its dry, tape off your stripes! Chevron or straight or wiggly. What ever you want. And then paint your last color on. RED!!!
Once its dry, remove the tape. See? Beautiful right??! :)
Then, this is optional, I used a sponge and rubbed Colonial stain on top. (That's the color, I don't remember the brand...Ooops) I then sanded after the stain dry. That's optional also and its up to your personal preference of how "distressed" looking you want it. The last thing I did was put a sealer on top.
TADA!!! Do you likey??! I personally LOVE it! ((OO!!! I also used pallet wood. Which helped in the "aged"/"distressed" look)
